LITTLE RIVERS HEALTH CARE, INC was founded in July
2003, in order to provide respectful, comprehensive
primary health care for all residents regardless of their
ability to pay for it.

We are a comprehensive health center serving the primary
health care needs in a service area includes the Vermont
Towns of
Bradford, Chelsea, Corinth, Fairlee, Groton, Newbury,
Norwich, Orange, Ryegate, Strafford, Thetford, Topsham,
Tunbridge, Vershire, Washington, West Fairlee, and the
neighboring towns of New Hampshire.

In December 2005, we received notice of our designation as
a Federally Qualified Health Center. We formally began
operations as a community health center in June of 2006.
Little Rivers Health Care is governed by  a board of
community volunteers, the majority of whom are patients
in the practice.

This designation gives our communities access to federal
funding to help provide health care for uninsured and
under-insured individuals and families.  It will help bring
new services to our community in the future including
dental care, on-site mental health counseling, better
connections to existing social services, access to low-cost
prescription medications and aid in the recruitment of
additional health providers.
