MDList Item 1
Doctor of Medicine, having completed medical school and residency. MDs specialize in many things, with Little Rivers providers specializing in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Family medicine sees all ages including infants, kids, adults, and elderly patients. They can perform minor procedures, manage women's health, MAT, and all preventive care. Some provide pre- and post-natal care, which means pregnancy care and immediately after delivery. Some providers also practice Obstetrics, which includes labor and delivery services. Internal medicine doctors care for adults and elderly patients. They also can perform minor procedures, manage women's health, and all preventive care.

FNPList Item 3
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) complete master’s degree programs, and, in Vermont, are independent clinicians who have received advanced clinical training. They have trained first as a nurse and then continued their training to be able to provide full medical care similar to Doctors. FNPs specialize in Family Medicine, caring for all ages including infants, kids, adults, and elderly patients.
They can perform minor procedures, manage women's health, MAT, and all preventive care. Some provide pre-and post-natal care, which means pregnancy care and immediately after delivery.

DNPList Item 2
DNP is a Doctor of Nursing Practice. This is an NP who as completed additional training to prepare them for leadership and clinical practice. It is a research focused training to support these additional functions.

MPHList Item 4
An MPH degree is a graduate-level degree that prepares individuals to work with specific populations and communities to improve their health through awareness, education, policy and research. It can provide a more advanced understanding of the five core disciplines of public health (biostatistics; epidemiology; environmental health; health policy and administration and social and behavioral sciences).

DipABLM
A medical Provider who has completed additional training in Lifestyle Medicine, becoming a Diplomate of Lifestyle Medicine.
Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions including, but not limited to, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Lifestyle medicine certified clinicians are trained to apply evidence-based, whole-person, prescriptive lifestyle change to treat and, when used intensively, often reverse such conditions. Applying the six pillars of lifestyle medicine—a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connections—also provides effective prevention for these conditions.

ADM
The addiction medicine physician provides medical care within the bio-psycho-social framework for persons with addiction, for the individual with substance-related health conditions, for persons who manifest unhealthy substance use, and for family members whose health and functioning are affected by another’s substance use or addiction.

PMHNP
An advanced practice registered nurse trained to provide a wide range of mental health services to patients and families in a variety of settings. PMHNPs diagnose, conduct therapy, and prescribe medications for patients who have psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. They are licensed to provide emergency psychiatric services, psychosocial and physical assessment of their patients, treatment plans, and manage patient care. They may also serve as consultants or as educators for families and staff. The PMHNP has a focus on psychiatric diagnosis, including the differential diagnosis of medical disorders with psychiatric symptoms, and on medication treatment for psychiatric disorders.

A registered dental hygienist (RDH) is a health professional who prevents and treats oral disease. They work with patients to improve their dental health and hygiene.

LICSW
A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) holds a master's degree is clinical social work and then completes significant supervision hours before earning licensure. An LICSW assesses, treats, and diagnoses mental health, emotional, and behavioral issues.
They help clients develop strategies to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life. They provide counseling and therapy to individuals, groups, and families. They help clients navigate issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationship conflicts. They promote mental health and social functioning.

A Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor holds a master's degree in clinical counseling and completes significant supervised hours before earning licensure. A LCMHC assesses, treats, and diagnoses mental health, emotional, and behavioral issues. They help clients develop strategies to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.

LADC
The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) licensure is an additional license (and training) for counselors in providing support for people managing substance misuse. They assist clients in developing skills and behaviors necessary to recover from their substance misuse or modify their behavior. They work with clients to identify behaviors or situations that interfere with their recovery. They can also perform court ordered assessments related to substance misuse.

MOUD
The MOUD (Medication for Opiate Use Disorder) program primarily for the treatment of opiate use disorder. We utilize a harm reduction philosophy to support each clients biopsychosocial needs on an individualized basis.
